Welcome to Oakwood Embroidery and Studio! 🧵🪡

Oakwood Embroidery is a small, home run business and online shop run by textile artist Wendy Mansfield and her son Luke.

We aim to stock the best Moda, Lewis and Irene, and Fabric Godmother branded fabrics and accessories for all your sewing, quilting, and dressmaking needs.

In-Person classes and workshops will soon be available to attend at our home workshop in Essex, about an hour away from London! Details can be found on the Workshops page above ☺️

About Wendy

I have always loved textiles from a very early age and have always been involved in embroidery in one form or another, whether it be Cross-stitch, Beadwork or Goldwork.

Over the years, I have gained various qualifications based around Embroidery starting with City and Guilds Certificates in both Embroidery, and Art and Design which I completed in 1996 and 1999. From there, I became interested in various other forms of Embroidery and gained an NVQ in Victorian Crafts and additional City and Guilds qualifications in Needleweaving and Beadwork in 2003.

Most recently, my interests shifted to Goldwork leading me to complete a third C&G certificate in Goldwork Embroidery started in 2005 and completed in 2009. From there, I spent more and more time working on various projects and pieces at home and I'm finally delighted to share these with everyone.

Classes and Craft Fairs

In 2010, I joined the Minerva Textiles Group, an Embroidery and Textiles organisation based at Craft Arena in Barleylands Craft Village, Essex and also belong to the UK Embroiderers Guild Association.

I also teach various Embroidery classes around Essex and have recently started attending and selling my work at some local craft fairs!

I will soon be updating my site with dates and locations of workshops and classes I'll be attending in 2024 onward!
